There is a long-standing gap in the market for a journal that provides an outlet for academics and practitioners who have an interest in the economic and business aspects of the rapidly growing international gambling market. The Journal of Gambling Studies is an interdisciplinary forum for research and discussion of the many and varied aspects of gambling behavior, both controlled and pathological. Coverage extends to the wide range of attendant and resultant problems, including alcoholism, suicide, crime, and a number of other mental health concerns. Journal of Gambling Studies co-sponsored by the National Council on Problem Gambling and the Institute for the Study of Gambling and Commercial Gaming is an interdisciplinary forum for the dissemination of information on the many aspects of gambling behavior both controlled and pathological as well as a variety of problems attendant to or resultant.
